Meet The Coaches

GKG is dedicated to hiring the most qualified and experienced coaches. Each is accomplished in martial arts, has developed an effective teaching style and is adept at inspiring greatness. Each coach is also truly passionate about fitness and has demonstrated a strong ability to train others in ways that deliver positive results. No matter your level, our coaches care about you achieving the goals you’ve set for yourself. Our commitment is always to you.

Owner
Gil Sanchez

Gil has been a certified trainer since 2001 through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM.) He has multiple credentials such as MMA conditioning specialist (NASM), TRX course completion, balance and speed & agility certified (NASM). He has been training in Muay Thai/Kickboxing since 2008 and has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under professor Alexandre Novaes. He has competed in multiple martial arts since he was 13 years old including wrestling, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Neveen Sanchez

Neveen has been a certified trainer since 2013 through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She has been training in Muay Thai/Kickboxing since 2001 and has over 20 fights in the ring. She won the ISKA California state title when she was only 17 years old. She also has a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has competed multiple times.

James Contreras

James has over 45 years of martial arts training and competition in multiple disciplines including Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Boxing, Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in which he has a brown belt. He is the owner/head coach of “Art Of 8 Fresno Muay Thai.”

Michael Mims

Michael has solid coaching experience in the fitness industry. Helping people get healthy and fit has been a passion for him since a young age. Mike has been doing kickboxing training since 2014. His coaching experience includes TRX, HIIT and Cross Training. A life goal for Mike is to teach others the fun and importance of health and fitness and that anyone can truly achieve their personal goals through hard work and dedication.

Jeremy Brown

Jeremy has been kickboxing since 2016. His coaching style places focus on developing power and refining technique. He has learned from his training to run marathons that it takes patience and enduring will-power to achieve one’s physical fitness goals. His philosophy, “a person cannot get rich overnight, and a person cannot get into shape overnight either.” He gives his students the determination, confidence, and most importantly patience to reach their goals.

David Delgado

David is a GKG staple! His energy and ability to get you motivated makes him a fan favorite. With years of Muay Thai/boxing training, David can elevate your training and maximize every single workout. Growing up in the South Bay, he is a local through and through. He loves to get people motivated and rock the house!

Leo Montiel

Coach Leo is a dedicated martial artist who actively competes in MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai. As a BJJ blue belt and certified personal trainer, he brings a well-rounded skill set to every training session. Leo has a passion for helping athletes of all experience levels grow, whether they’re stepping on the mats for the first time, or preparing for their next fight. His coaching style is technical, supportive, and rooted in real experience. Despite his accomplishments, Leo remains one of the most humble and approachable coaches you’ll meet. He leads by example and inspires those around him to push their limits while keeping the journey fun and motivating.

Dan Ton

Dan’s journey in martial arts started in 2007. Years of disciplined training in the art of boxing followed and imbued in him a humbling and thoughtful mindset. After watching and studying the fights of Buakaw Banchamek, an accomplished Muay Thai champion, he made the transition into Muay Thai, where he studied the art of 8. Throughout the years, Dan has both helped and trained with people of all levels. All that he has gained through the training and competing compels him to share his passion with those who want to learn, work hard, and make meaningful changes to their lifestyles.
